Story
The reason I wanted to do The Snowdon Marathon initially, was as a tribute to dad,who passed away September 2011,as he was born on Angelsey,as was Mum.I did the Great North Run for The Stroke Association last year and had many contributions to the cause, including a donation from a mother in Llantwit Major who has a beautiful daughter Nancy, who was born with Cystic Fibrosis.
She is gorgeous and we all felt,as a family, that Dad,if still about , would have been the first to make a donation to the cause. So here we are folks, dig deep if you can and just look into Nancy's eyes in the pic,if you have any doubts.
Cystic Fibrosis affects 9000 young people in the UK, 1 in 25 of us are carriers and every child that is born in the UK is tested for it shortly after birth. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust are the only charity in the UK dedicated to funding research into finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis..a life limiting genetic disease that affects all the internal organs in the body and see's it sufferers on daily regimes of lots of medication and physio and inevitably transplant lists. Currently maximum life expectancy for someone with CF is 30-40 years old.
So this is what i am about to undertake..and Nancy is going to keep me running up And down this great big hill! The link for this madness is below.
