Big Walk 2018 for the Sheffield Scanner

Big Walk 2018 · 22 June 2018 ·
Thanks for visiting my Big Walk 2018 Just Giving page. More information about The Big Walk 2018 can be found at https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/alumni/sheffieldscanner/big-walk
I’m taking part in The Big Walk 2018, a walking challenge on 22 June – a 26.2 marathon-distance Peak District walk starting around the corner from our house on the edge of Sheffield, heading out to the Peak District and ending on the University campus.
It’s going to be a tough challenge for me to walk more than 26 miles over hill and down dale, but I’m determined to get to the finish.
Why am I doing this?
I’m helping to raise funds towards the University’s £2 million fundraising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner - a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner facility. The Sheffield Scanner will represent the next leap forward in medical and imaging research and have a crucial role for research and patients in many areas of medicine, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, heart disease, diabetes and stroke.

Thank you for supporting the big walk 2018 and the Sheffield scanner campaign!
