Story
Dave Scott and Glynn Coupland are doing the 125-mile Big Green Bike Ride from London to the New Forest at the end of April, to raise funds for Friends of the Earth. For good measure, we're also both running the Reading Half-Marathon on Sunday 17th March!
The bike ride sets off on Saturday 27th April, and involves an 85-mile cycle from London to the New Forest that day, camping overnight, and a further 40-mile cycle round the New Forest the next day: 125 miles in all. (Plus 13.1 painful miles on foot in the half-marathon, of course). We've each paid £100 for the privilege so far, and now we need to raise more than £300 in sponsorship each too. Please help... it's going to hurt (the riding that is, hopefully not the fundraising)!
To add to the challenge, the training period for the bike ride is going to be somewhat short, as we've both been concentrating on running to prepare for the half-marathon. That gives us around 5 weeks to train for the bike ride! Friends of the Earth is, of course, a brilliantly worthwhile charity to be raising funds for, so please help us to reach our target.
