Marathon 2 - The Return

Here I go again. After the last year's marathon I did not do the Steve Redgrave thing and say shoot me if I do another one.  My firend Mac helped me through all the training last year and now feels he would like to do a marathon himself. I feel obliged to keep him company. More importantly, I am again running for the firm's charity of the year, Shelter. Last year you helped me raise more than £3000 to help families in difficulty find homes and put roofs over the heads of the homeless. But the problems do not go away easily so we need to raise more money.

Like The Godfather, Part 2 is going to be better than part 1. I am determined it to be so.

Just completed the Birmingham half marathon last Sunday which was difficult with a very painful foot. However it was great to visit(pass), albeit fleetingly, some of the haunts from my student days. Seems a long time ago now. After a visit to the Doctor and a dose of anti inflammatories my foot is now recovering well. Now to start the training in earnest with an aim to break the 4 hour barrier.

26th Jan - just finished the Tuesday night 7 mile run. Excellent pace, thought it must have been a personal best but then found watch had stopped!
