Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Between the 10th and 26th May 2013, Mark Thornton and Dave Edwards are aiming to cycle from Lincoln Cathedral to Santiago-de-Compostela in north west Spain. It's a distance of 1200 miles, at an average of over 70 miles per day.
The trip is unsupported, meaning that we have no support vehicles to carry our luggage or book accommodation, and will carry with us all we need including tents and camping equipment!
The Camino-de-Santiago (or pilgrimage) as it is known, has been travelled for over a thousand years by pilgrims on foot, horseback, and more recently by bicycle. It is a test of both physical and mental strength, as well as spiritual exploration.
L.I.V.E.S. perform phenomenal work in responding to the community of Lincolnshire. Due to the geographical nature of our county the swift response they can provide to people in need of medical assistance is invaluable. They provide expert training and equipment to volunteers living in the communities they serve to be able to respond to emergency calls - often before an ambulance can. All this costs money. L.I.V.E.S. rely on charitable donations and have no government funding. Please help to support this cause.
