Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the UK Ironman 2010 for the Cardiomyopathy Association.
This charity and event means a lot to me as I am competing in memory of my friends Laura and Tom Side. Both died from this condition, Laura at 16 and Tom in December last year at just 22.
I am hoping by taking on an event of this magnitude you will give generously so that my efforts are rewarded with a sizeable total donation to the CMA.
The event is on the 1st of August in Bolton and involves a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finally a marathon - The event has to be completed in a maximum of 17 hours.
I now only have nine weeks until the big day and am spending around 12 - 18 hours a week training. I have already completed a marathon and a few bike rides in excess of 70 miles - I am just hoping I make it out of the water without the need of the rescue crew !!!
Please see the following links for more information on the race and about the CMA:

All your donations and support is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave.
