Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 29th September 2019 I will be running the Berlin Marathon (26.2 miles) to raise money for Bristol Sands, a charity close to the hearts of our family and every penny donated goes to a fantastic cause.

This is the biggest challenge I have undertaken in my life to date with my previous biggest run being the Bristol Half Marathon but I know that all the blisters, sore legs and no doubt injuries along the way will all be worth it thanks to your donations. I will cross that finish line!

Created in 1978 by bereaved parents frustrated at the lack of bereavement care and support available, Sands has always had the support of bereaved parents at its heart. Before charities like Sands sought to make changes, losing a baby was handled very differently to how we care for parents who suffer a stillbirth or neonatal death today. Parents didn’t get to see or spend time with their babies, there were no photos taken, and perhaps most heartbreaking of all, parents didn’t know where their babies were buried.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
