My dad was my best friend and my teacher in life! He was the person I always looked up to and could rely on for help, and also to give me a kick up the backside when needed!... After being poorly for one year, he was diagnosed with advanced cancer and offered trial treatment at Newcastle Freeman Hospital. He amazed the doctors and consultants with his good humour and positive attitude - never ever giving up. Although early signs were good, the cancer fought back sooner than expected and spread so rapidly nothing could be done. He died 22 November 2010, in his own home with his family by his side. This was only possible thanks to the fantastic MARIE CURIE nurses who gave an immense amount of support when we really needed it. I'm now trying to give back with your help!
