I'm running to commemorate the life of Alison Ford, the best Breakfast editor I ever worked for, who, had she not been so cruelly taken from us, would have had more than enough courage and energy to do what we're all going to do in Newcastle on what would have been her 47th birthday - except she'd have had the overwhelming good sense to let other people do it for her! Many Happy Returns boss - it'll be a pleasure! (at least once the first thirteen miles are behind us...)
