Hello everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm taking part in a huge, massive, awesome fundraising event with 5,000 other lunatics from British Gas on 30 June in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. I'm trying to raise £500 to contribute to our total fundraising target of £1 million.

To do this I have set myself the challenge to swim front crawl for a mile in open water.  Up to two months ago I would have struggled to complete 50 metres front crawl in the pool but I have been training hard.  Indeed, I did my first practice swim in a lake on Wednesday evening and I can confirm:

- The water is surprisingly cold, smells bad and tastes even worse.

- Swimming is much more tiring when you can’t touch the floor or the sides.

- It is quite surreal swimming past a Swan, I'm not sure who would win in a fight; actually I am - the Swan.

I thought you might like to see how comfortable I look in the water so I’ve attached a photo of me - as you can see it really wasn't cold at all and I'm pleased with how I was able to keep my composure.
