Ride Across Britain · 6 September 2014 to 14 September 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've set myself the task of completing the Ride Across Britain which is a bicycle ride from Lands End to John O'Groats - a distance of 969 miles, Starting on Saturday 6th September, the ride will take me 9 days, averaging just over 100 miles a day.  So you can be sure that I am going to suffer ! But knowing that I am raising money through your support will keep me motivated to complete the challenge.

My chosen charity is the Alzheimers Society.  They do fantastic work leading the fight against Dementia which is caused when the brain is damaged by diseases such as Alzheimer's disease or a series of strokes.  Its effects may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language.  Dementia is progressive which means the symptoms gradually get worse.  I've seen at first hand the consequences of this disease.  Your donation will fund research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia to improve treatment for people today and to search for a cure for tomorrow.

PS don't forget to Give Aid your donation if possible.

Thank-you for your support

David
