On Sunday 22 April I will be taking part in the London Marathon and I am fundraising for St Joseph’s Hospice. Training commenced on Christmas Day (really!) and I am enjoying getting out and running around the streets of London. Less pleasant have been the injuries but the physiotherapy seems to be working a treat on my old knee – that and sheer determination will hopefully see me over the finish line on the big day.

For those of you who are not familiar with the fantastic work done by the hospice, they care for patients and their families who are in the final phase of a terminal illness. Providing St Joseph’s services to the people of East and North East London costs around £12 million each year. Only half of this is met by the NHS and the rest must be raised by charitable donations. My goal is to raise £1600.00 which is challenging but a huge incentive is that my employer will match this if I can reach my target and this is where I am looking to draw on your generosity. Please please sponsor me – no amount too small - I really would be very grateful and I am sure you agree it is for a tremendous cause.
