Our team
David Higginson,Debbie Higginson,Richard Mcfall,Chris Winters and Simon Higginson's goal are to travel the Pilgrims' Way by bicycle. Our journey to Santiago de Compostela, will start September 2011 in the French town of Saint-Jean Pied de Port this will take me (David Higginson) 2 weeks of riding alone until I meet the rest of the team in the Spanish city of Leon in the La Maragateria region and take us through Astorga, Ponferrada, O Cebreiro, Sarria, Palas de Rei and finally the city of Santaigo de Compostela in Galicia. People have been making the pilgrimage to Santiago for nearly 1,200 years so, why do it I hear you ask?! Religion. Spirituality. Culture. Or simply to take part in the river of history, to participate in something that has endured for twelve centuries. Whichever it is, as a team it will be the experience of a lifetime and extremely rewarding to conquer......................
We are hoping to raise £10,000.00 for Edward's Trust which is a registered charity founded in July 1989 by Peter and Hilary Dent in memory of their son, Edward, who died of cancer when he was 7 years old.
