The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a tough 25 mile route reaching the summits of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, the three highest peaks in Yorkshire, all within a 12 hour period.
So why am I doing this? One in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of us will ever face. I'm sure everyone knows someone or knows of someone affected. If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your corner supporting you every step of the way. Macmillan Cancer Support is a fantastic organisation pushing for better cancer care and providing practical, medical and financial support to an ever growing number of people throughout the country.
Last year I supported the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge by volunteering as an Events Assistant on the day and this inspired me to do more this year by taking part in the challenge myself. In this way I can improve my own fitness, a personal goal of mine, whilst assisting an amazing charity which provides a wide range of support for anybody affected by cancer.
My aim is to raise as much as possible to support this very worthwhile charity and therefore any donation you would like to give would be greatly appreciated and would certainly make a very big difference.
