The Stroke Association - HSBC Challenge Spinnaker Abseil · 27 June 2010 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for the The Stroke Association - HSBC Challenge Spinnaker Abseil.

Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth Harbour is the UK's tallest building which is open to the public outside of London, the tower is two and a half times the size of Nelson's Column in London. You probably think I'm mad to do this and abseil down the Spinnaker Tower...  ok, don't answer that...  but 350ft is an awful long way up (and down!!) please sponsor me.

My father-in-law suffered a suspected stroke 2 years ago and if it was not for the research and work of organisations like The Stroke Association, the hospital would not have been as successful in treating him. Recently a close friend of my sister suffered a brain stem stroke which really brought home the fact a stroke can happen to anyone.

My employer, HSBC, will also match what I raise to a maximum of £500!
