My story

I am going to complete this 10 mile challenge carrying a 35lb bergan and raise money for the Parachute Regiment Charity, with the assistance of 3 friends. Myself being immensley proud of having served with the Regiment for over 14 years and having the best time of my life. The pure dedication of the modern soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan is inspirational and its wonderful to see the airborne ethos continued.

I wish to raise some funds for those that have been injured or require some assistance from the regimental charity.

My pain in completing this is nothing compared to the sacrifice that these soldiers do.

Any amount is most welcome, 3 extremely good friends, well they are before the event! are willing to have a go and complete the challenge, all credit to them.

From a personal point of view, it will be great to put the bergan back on and see if I can get round in a decent time, obviously a lot older and heavier but the experience will outweigh any pain. Hopefully I will meet a few old friends and possibly complete a few challenges over the next few years for such a worthwhile cause.
