Cheers. keep the donations coming :)

On the 27h of january i will be attempting to complete the tough guy event which is dubbed "the worlds hardest endurence test" and "the safest most dangerous event in the world". I will be battling my way through a 8 mile assualt course which features terrifying underwater tunnels, barbed wire fences, fire walks, 40ft nets, 10ft walls and even electric fences and stingers. Couple all of this with -9 degree air temperature, frozen ponds and stream to crawl and swim through, no safety ropes or protection, im sure you will all be thinking why would i want to put myself through this. Well the answer is simple. To raise as much money as possible for the Rays of Sunshine childrens charity.

I have chosen Rays of Sunshine to be the beneficiaries of my sponsorship because they have helped my girlfriends friend Vana Stephens, her husband Dougie and their daughter Enna. Nearly two years ago Vana, Dougie and Enna lead a life like many others until a series of headaches lead to a devastating prognosis for Enna. Enna was diagnosed with a brain tumour. At only 9 years old she has endured numerous operation and treatmants for her cancer, these not only take a toll on Enna but also her parents. The good news is Enna was given the all clear in September this year but something many people dont realise is that it is no where near the end of the road yet. Enna will need physiotherapy and to put some weight on. The right side of her body was paralysed after surgery and she still has a tremor in her right hand. The chemotherapy has damaged her hearing, meaning she need to wear hearing aids, while her ability to learn has slowed. For families like the Stephens being granted a wish (visiting santa in lapland) as they have been by Rays of Sunshine gives them the boost they need when times feel tough. The more money raised the more families will be granted wishes, giving some much needed distraction from dealing with a life threatening or terminal illness.

So please give all you can to such a great cause and i will try my very best to finish this tough guy race.

Thank you

We brighten the lives of seriously ill young people by granting wishes and providing ongoing support. Our wishes are as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a fireman, meet a real-life mermaid or even the Loch Ness Monster, we work hard to make that wish come true.
