My name is David Wilson and I am taking part in a series of challenges in aid of the 50-50-50 Challange & The Christies.

Who am I, me, I'm the ex fatty who in June 2009 weighed approx 430lbs (nearly 31 stone) and have been on an amazing weight loss journey ever since. I now weigh 20 stone and have taken part in a couple of other events over the past three years, but these are by far my most demanding challenge so far, especially for someone who struggled with normal day to day tasks for so long.

I am taking part in these challenges for 2 reasons

1) Personal Challenges for myself, I've learnt over the last few years if you are going to challenge yourself its better to go for something difficult and not always take the easy option.

2) This cause is something that has affected me and my family. We were lucky that we got to spend years with our mother (grandmother) after her treatment at The Christie, other people only get weeks or months to spend with there loved ones. I know which I'd prefer and places like The Christie are trying to help treat and cure cancer.
