Wessex Cancer Support provides free and local emotional support to anyone affected by cancer in Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Clients may have cancer themselves, be adjusting to life after cancer, supporting someone with cancer or be bereaved. We rely on donations to provide this support.

Story

I have agreed to take part in a company 24Hr Triathlon raising money for Wessex Cancer Trust. I have joined a team of 12 people, all hellbent on torturing themselves on a rowing machine, a gym bike and a treadmill trying to keep the machines constantly running for 24 hours.

The facts: 6 hours of exercise per person in 24, with the challenge of completing an average of 28km rowing, 24km running and 64km cycling each! That's averaging 2:10mins per 500 metres whilst rowing, 12km/h running (8min/mile) and 32km/h cycling, on each piece of machinery for half an hour a time.

Being just after Christmas, I know its a difficult time of year to donate but cancer is an illness that affects most, if not all families, including mine. So any money towards a Cancer Charity is a worthy cause. Plus, any money I raise, will really help me push through the early hours of the morning, even though all I will want to do is sleep.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
