Nephrotic Syndrome (NS) affects approx 10,000 people in the UK, majority are children, with no known cause or cure. The current treatment is non-specific and highly toxic, with many potentially life-threatening complications. NeST funds Bristol Children's Hospital in researching NS to find a cure.

Story

My wife Amanda won PA of this year 2016, winning this accolade out of some 800+ PA's in the Manchester PA Network (MPAN).

As a consequence of this, and to celebrate this achievement, she and I are taking part in three charity events in 2017: a 50km walk (Trekfest, based around Brecon in the Brecon Beacons); a 100km cycle (the Manchester to Blackpool cycle 2017) and a 100mile bike ride (the Manchester 100 Mile).

The main charity of MPAN is the Christie. I have chosen two further charities to support - which have needed their own JustGiving page.

This page is for NeST, a charity supporting those with Nephrotic Syndrome. This is a condition (not a disease which affects the filters in one or both of your kidneys, potentially leading to infections, thrombosis, vitamin D deficiency, or anaemia.

The business I work for, Selecta UK Limited supports NeST as our company charity.

Many thanks for your support.

Dave
