Bupa Great South Run 2009 · 25 October 2009 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Hello Everyone,

Well once again the BUPA Great South 10 mile run is approaching fast on Sunday, 25th October, and I am running again to raise some money for the Stroke Association, as I have done for the last few years. As many of you know, my wife Frances is a nurse on a stroke rehabilitation ward for the elderly and every day she sees how debilitating a stroke can be and the permanent changes that this can bring about to a persons life and that of their immediate family. The Stroke Association are there for these unfortunate people, providing help and assistance in the form of  Family & Carer support, Communication disability support groups, Counselling and emotional well being, Stroke survivor and family services, plus many other activities and services.

Remember a stroke can affect anyone at any age, not just the elderly. I hope you will agree with me that this is a very worthy cause and will be happy to give a donation, even in these harsh economic times.

I thank you all for your support.
