Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am bicycling from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise funds for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. I will begin my cycle on May 1st and travel the full length of the course, which stretches to almost 950 miles, cycling alone, completely unassisted and carrying all my gear on the bike. I will be 66 years old when I start the ride and will not have used a bike in 50 years (aside from my training of course)!

The ambition of the Appeal is to promote better health and fitness opportunities for all, particularly those from some of the UK’s most deprived areas such as Tower Hamlets, where 50% of local children live in poverty and where infant mortality is double the national average. To do this, Fit for the Future will help five charities: primarily Barts and The London Charity on behalf of the Trauma Unit at The Royal London Hospital, and also Fields in Trust, Futures for Kids, London Youth Rowing and The Rowing Foundation.

I hope you will join me in supporting this very worthy cause by sponsoring me on my cycle challenge.
