Safely back from three days and 250 miles of perpetual pedalling to Belgium and despite an inflamed knee (insect bite) and a flaming Garmin (kept steering us the long way round), I’m  delighted to say that I was able to arrive eventually, along with almost 50 other crazy riders, at the beautiful city of Ypres.

We should perhaps have realised the route was going to be a challenge too far for our guide when he got us lost leaving Northampton !

To be honest the trip was more of a test than I’d imagined but I’ll certainly look back on a wonderful experience with very fond memories  - at least now it’s over.

Was sustained throughout by the knowledge of the wonderful support that I’ve received and just wanted to say a very sincere thank you to all of you that have kindly taken the time to visit my just giving fund raising page and made such generous pledges.

I’ve learned a lot more about the Hope Centre charity as part of my 2017 “Ride for Hope” and feel very pleased that with your help we have been able to add to
their fundraising appeal this year.

The Northampton Hope Centre supports homeless and disadvantaged adults in Northampton many of whom are suffering from family breakdown, drug or alcohol addictions and mental health issues.  The money we have raised for the Centre will provide these individuals with a welcoming, nonjudgmental  environment and the basics of hot meals, drinks and showers, that we all take for granted. The Centre' also provides access to workshops and activities focused on education and training  to give many a new start in life.
