Life Cycle 5: Cycling for Dementia Research · 4 September 2015

Our life-changing research can fight diseases, tackle global challenges and change society. At Nottingham, students from all backgrounds can achieve extraordinary things, in and out of the classroom. But talent needs a catalyst. You can shape the future and help make the incredible happen, every day

Story

As a previous participant, in one way or another, for all the previous Life Cycles I have come to realise that raising awareness and money for important issues makes great sense.

Dementia holds an ever present grip on society, people we have known share the stories of losing their loved ones as personalities  before they die and the distress that is caused.

As a paediatrician I see the research challenge as finding a way to sustain brain health from early in life as part of the solution to Dementia .

Nottingham University has demonstrated repeatedly that cycling for awareness and money can make a difference.  My efforts in Scotland along the lochs and Glens will be amplified by your donations - just £5 from each of my friends can make the difference that is needed to propel the University's efforts in this field.
