Story

02-Aug 2010 - That was much harder then expected and if it wasn't for the great support I am not sure if I would of been able to to finish. The race started at 0600hrs and the swim began, after 1hr 16mins in the lake I managed to haul myself out ready for the 112 mile bike. The Adlington Massive were in full vocals as I turned the corner for the Sheep hill if they weren't manouvreing around the pubs to cheer me on. 6hrs 45 mins of pedalling and it was trainers on for the 26.2 mile run. This wasn't so good and it was here I am sure Mum gave me some help in managing the pain of cramp every 500m for 4hrs plus. All in all a good day although I can't remember crossing the finish line but job done and many pounds raised for St Catherines.

30 Jul 2010 - Just about to leave home and race my legs off. Feeling OK! For now anyway, register this afternoon, quick swim, bike, run tomorrow then chillax all day. Sunday up 0400hrs breakfast of porridge and fruit move into transition 0500hrs, final checks. Wetsuit on race start at 0600hrs. Race finish fingers crossed 1700hrs if all goes to plan. My sisters 50th birthday party 1900hrs and sleep!!!!! Love and miss you so much mum, I know you'll be with me. xx

25 Jul 2010 - Wow! Can't believe that the target and more has been achieved, thank you to everybody for your generosity. The only thing left to do is for me to homour the donations.

The last week has been difficult to say the least. On Sat 17th I managed to adopt a back spasm which became increasing painful over the weekend. Physio beat me up for over an hour and now all engines are on running again. So this week will consist of sleep work and carbs with a few short sharp sessions.

12 Jul 2010 - This time in 3 weeks it will all be over and I'll be searching my next challenge. Saturday did a long ride 50+ miles got poohed on by a bird in Hungerford. Good luck!! Then got stung by a bee in my mouth, that'll teach me to keep my mouth shut! No injuries, touch wood...... Nearly at the total... Thanks everybody......

05 Jul 2010 - I am very sorry for not updating the schedule for those who were enjoying watching the hours fill. This year seems to be completely doomed and it is with sadness that Lorraines mum my mum in law passed away on the 13th June losing her fight to cancer. Jean will be missed by us all. My resolve is stronger than ever and with only 25 days to go it is damage limitation now. I think I have done enough in the base period of training to drag myself around. What more motivation do I need than thinking of MUM & JEAN and all of you guys who have taken the time to support this worthy cause. This year has taught me one thing and that is live life to the full spending as much time as possible with the ones you love!

It is with great sadness that my mum Barbara Zimmer a  Friend, Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother lost her fight to cancer on Wednesday 24th February 2010. We'll miss you mum.... xxx

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It is only when someone close to you is very ill you realise that hospices are in a league of there own offering support and ensuring our loved ones are looked after. I look forward to my mums phonecalls every Tuesday which is her hospice day, she has so much to say. All in one day she manages to have her hair done, aromatherapy, manicures, pedicures, lunch and games as well as socialising. Unfortunately these facilities rely on voluntary donations to enable them to make our loved ones feel special, hence my request to you. It doesn't have to be a large donation small is as welcome as large and donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
