Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The story so far:

Well for a very long time I have harboured a desire to run a Marathon, but I’ve just kept it quiet.

Like most of us I had watched some of the previous marathons from the comfort of the sofa with a cup of tea and thought that looks fun, if man dressed as a RHINO can run it, how hard can it be?

Then in 2009 I went to the London Marathon to support and encourage my brother-in-law Ian, in his first ever Marathon. Yes he finished and raised a considerable amount of money for The Paget’s Association, the charity for which I am running.

Well that was it!!

What an experience. I said to myself there and then, “I must give this a go at least once”

It was still several weeks before I announced to family and friends that I was going to run The Marathon and several more weeks before I actually started running.

I had missed the online entry but several e-mails later and I was fortunate to be offered one of the Paget’s Associations Golden Bond entries.  I was in!!

Now all I had to do was the TRAINING!!

Those who know me well will understand that for me, simply taking part, is not enough. I had to do the best I could. So I down loaded loads of training plans, nutritional information etc etc.

And for those of you who know my husband you will know he had to have all the gadgets to, not just the Garmin watch but the heart monitor, along with the best trainers and 1000 mile socks!! The runners magazine the sports drinks and the sport fuel sachets.

David has totally immersed himself in the Marathon and today took delivery of his Virgin Marathon Kit, I know he will do well David never starts anything he can not finish and he will I am sure finish well. He deserves your support, and again I say that the pain I have suffered whilst David undertakes his training!! Is nothing compared to those coping with Paget’s on a daily basis.

Thank you for your support
