Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and a huge thank you to all of you who've donated this year, fantastic, I'm very grateful for your support.
On a very wet Sunday 19th September I squeezed into the starting pen of the GNR, in my damp but still squeaky trainers, for a 10th half marathon. I won't pretend that it was easy, an ankle injury meant I was only ever going to take it steady....who said "Run fat boy run"? Not quite as entertaining as Simon Peggs cinematic jog but the atmosphere as always was great.
This year I'm supporting a charity that helped me and my family several years ago. In May 2001 I was diagnosed with meningitis and I spent a few worrying days in hospital. I was one of the lucky ones and made a full recovery but I certainly valued the support of my good friends at the Meningitis Trust.
Each year there are thousands of cases of Meningitis and like me, many are lucky enough to receive an early diagnosis unfortunately many also fail to be diagnosed early enough and results are either fatal or life altering for the patient.
Please help me to help the Meningitis Trust support those who are coping with the affects of this condition and to continue to save lives through initiatives supporting early detection.
