Goodwood Roller Marathon 2011 · 14 August 2011

The Bluebell Railway Trust's "Funding for the Future" campaign is urgently raising funds to help preserve our infrastructure and unique collection of steam locomotives and rolling stock. Our main appeals at present are Accessible Steam Heritage, Cash for Cover and Keep up the Pressure.

Story

In a moment of madness I have decided to skate the Goodwood Roller Marathon round the Goodwood motor circuit. http://www.goodwoodmarathon.co.uk

I have been skating from a young age and have set myself a target of skating a minimum of the marathon distance (26.2 miles) but hope to do a few extra laps and maybe hit the full double marathon distance of 53 miles!!!

If you feel this feat is worthy of sponsorship I will be truly grateful.

I will be supporting three very deserving causes: The Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer Charity, Help the Hospices Charity and the Bluebell Railway Trust (with the money going towards the completion of the Railway's extension to East Grinstead).

Sponsorship money to be donated to the Bluebell Railway Trust can be done through this website.

If you want your sponsorship money to go to the Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer Charity and Help the Hospices this should be done as a separate donation through my "Virgin Money Giving" website page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DavidPratt1980.

More information about Help the Hospices and Anthony Nolan can be found through the links on the Virgin Money Giving page. If you want to find out more information about the Bluebell Railway Trust and their plan to connect with the national rail network by removing thousands of tons of domestic waste, before landill tax exemption runs out in 2012, please follow the link http://bluebellrailwaytrust.org.uk/supportus/6WF-1BT/50thAnniversaryAppeal.aspx?campaignkw=HOME.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations given.

David
