Story
I'd always hoped to run a marathon before I turned the big 40 but alas the knees so far haven't manged to hold up! So I'm cheating a bit and running two half marathon's in consecutive weekends.
First up is the Scottish Half Marathon on Sunday 23rd September. Staring at Meadowmill Sports Centre near Tranent, it head out through Longniddry to the East Lothian Coast and then turns back through Cockenzie and Port Seton before finishing in Musselburgh.
Then it's over to the west of Scotland to run the much hillier Great Scottish Run - 13.1 miles around the streets of Glasgow on Sunday 30th September.
This year I'm running for Mental Health UK. I think we're all much more aware of the impact of mental health on all our own lives and those of the people we live and work with. But there is still a lot of work to do to ensure people get the support they need to deal with their illness, when they need it and to educate us all to look out for and support those around us more. So if you feel able pleasegive what you can so Mental Health UK can carry on this important work.
