Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ewan and I are doing the once in a lifetime (maybe) trip by bike from Land's End to John O'Groats: "LEJoG" to those in the know. Depending on the route we take its just under or over 1,000 miles - 17 days at about 60 miles a day. I'm anticipating it with a mixture of excitement and dread - should have some really good experiences and pass through some lovely countryside, but will my legs hold out and when will I be able to sit down again? Forget about father and son bonding - will we still be speaking to one another at the end?

Helen, wife and mother, is seeing us off at Land's End and meeting up with us at John O'Groats - wonder whose got the brains in this outfit?

We've chosen 2 charities: The Macular Disease Society which helps those who suffer from this eye ailment, including my mother; and Amnesty International who I have always admired from afar for their bravery in fighting for human rights whatever the country or regime.

Ewan is charged with the technology elements and with any luck we can manage a blog which you can read while pretending to work and feel warm, dry and comfortable.

But enough of this drivel - its time to get the plastic out.
