On the 14th January 2010 my nephew Keane Junior Thomas Albert was born.  He was 14 weeks premature and weighed just 2lbs 5oz.

Keane spent the next 89 days of his life in the care of the staff at St.Georges Neo Natal Unit (NNU).  Everyday he had to fight for his life with different traumas along the way making the experience very hard for my brother Tim and his fiance Savannah.  Keane returned home on the 14th April six days before his original due date.  He is doing really well and is now at home with his dad, mum, brothers and sisters. This would not have been possible without the dedicated and professional work of the staff in the NNU at St.Georges.

Visiting Keane in the Neo Natal Unit made me appreciate just how much hard work goes into giving the babies in their care the best opportunity to survive.  The hard work of the staff was amazing and the equipment and facilities available further assists them in the work they do.

As a way of saying thank you to the St.Georges Neo Natal Unit, I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge over the 18th-19th June 2010.  In under 24 hours I will be climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. The money raised will go to the First Touch Charity. the money will be used to buy equipment for the NNU and support the parents who are going through such a difficult time.

Please look through the pictures to see the amazing progress Keane has made.

Thanks for all your support. David (Paddy) x
