Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I aim to raise as much as I can for Leukaemia Research. My great friend, Malcolm Peake contracted this disease and died just 10 months later in August of 1996. We were all so shocked at Malcolm was always so vibrant and active (he's the tall, tanned good looking one in the photo). In spite of fantastic care from the team at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, Surrey and a bone marrow donation from his sister, this disease robbed us of him anyway, it is indescriminate and take no notice of the life-style you lead, how fit you are etc.
My 54th birthday is coming up and I thought I would celebrate it in a most unusual way (for me, anyway). Myself and my boss, Brian Lunt are taking part in the Bintan sprint
Triathlon on the 22nd of May. Its on the island of Bintan which is off
of Singapore. The Triathlon consists of a 750 metres ocean swim
followed by 20k bike ride and then a 5 km run.

Anyone that knows me and believe me, I've not gained any more of an athletic build over the past few years since this photo was taken, so this is going to be tough. However, if I'm raising money for a good cause in the name of a great guy then this is going to be one of the best experiences of my life. Please give as much as you can.
