Story
<p>First of all thank you for taking the time to read my 'Just Giving' page. I am part of the support team for Team True Spirit, which is a group of injured servicemen and support staff taking part in various events to raise awareness and funds for service charities.</p>
<p>In order to help Team True Spirit do this I am going to complete an Ironman in July 2012. This involves a 2.4 mile open water swim followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finishing off with a 26 mile run. Anyone I have told so far about this mammoth task has laughed in my face and told me I'm mad...and they would be right. It is a huge challenge, that I honestly never would have thought I would voluntarily signed up for. That was before I began working in Headley Court which is a military rehabilitation centre for injured servicemen and women. Working there, you can't help but be inspired by patients that are aware of their physical limitations but choose to see them as a challenge that can be conquered instead of a reason to stop pushing themselves. As part of my support role I will be accompanying patients along the way as we complete the Ironman together.</p>
<p>My chosen charity is the Forces Childrens Trust. It is a charity devoted to helping children whose father or mother has died, or has sustained life threatening injuries whilst serving as a member of the British Armed Forces. I see this as a very important charity and I hope you do too!
