This year I am taking part in my first Great North Run - for those not in the UK, this is a half marathon (i.e., 13.1 miles). The Great North Run is the second largest half marathon in the world. I am looking forward to the challenge and training is well underway. I would like to take this opportunity to raise some money for a good cause and my chosen charity is Cancer Research UK.

Cancer can touch all of us at any time in our lives, whether through ourselves or our loved ones. Let us all do our little bit to help fund research to finally find a cure to this horrible disease.
