Dean Jefferson Henshall, much loved son of Sheila & Geoff, grandson of Doris & Jim, brother of Lucy - and now re-united with nanny Vera & grandad Jimmy.

Born February 12, 1997

Passed away October 30, 2009

Thank you for visiting Dean's JustGiving page for the Idea League UK.

Following a prolonged seizure in the early hours of Tuesday 27 October Dean was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. Very sadly, in spite of receiving the very best care available, Dean passed away peacefully at 1.10PM on Friday 30 October.

Dean's family are determined that good will come out of this terrible tragedy and as a result others will be helped. Dean has already helped two families through organ donation and he would have helped more had other suitable recipients been found.

Rather than sending cards or flowers the family ask those who would like to to make a donation in memory of Dean to the charity The Idea League UK.

Dean had GEFS+ whilst his14 year old sister Lucy has the much more severe Dravet Syndrome - both are "sodium channel" epilepsies. The Idea League UK was established in the UK only 6 months ago to provide support to those who suffer from sodium channel epilepsy and their families. As a very small and recently established charity any donations large or small will be very much appreciated by Dean's family and The Idea League. More information on The Idea League can be found on their website at http://www.idea-league.org.uk/ .

Dean also has a Facebook "Fan" page - [he would have loved the idea of having lots of fans :-) ] and you are invited become one of his fans and post any special memories, stories or photos you have of Dean. Please go to http://www.facebook.com/DeanHenshall

Thank you again for visiting Dean's JustGiving page.

How to donate:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the The Idea League and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - more money is raised, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Alternatively please send donations (cheques preferably) to:

The Idea League UK c/o, 51, Ruskin Drive, Dentons Green, St Helens, Merseyside, WA10 6RW. Thank you.
