We help young children with disabilities to work on all areas of their development.

Story

Our beautiful girl Eva Rose was starved of oxygen at birth and as a result has developed cerebral palsy which affects all of her limbs.  She is now 2 and a half and can't sit, crawl, walk or talk but she is full of fun and determination.  One of the difficulties about having a disabled child is that you have to see so many medical professionals who focus on different parts; her feeding, her speech, her posture, her limbs, her epilepsy etc etc.  Small Steps is different.  Small Steps sees Eva the way that we do, as a whole person who wants to be able to do as many 'normal things' as possible.  Eva and Sarah attend Small Steps every Thursday morning and they both love it.  The atmosphere is positive and welcoming but it is also a challenging place as they set high expectations for the children who attend.  They do lots of physical therapy but it is all accompanied with singing and learning which makes it fun and interesting. Social, communication, sensory and creative skills are all cleverly blended into the programme so that Eva is learning and developing in all areas.

Small Steps is run by an amazing team of inspiring and committed therapists.  It is completely reliant upon charity donations, it doesn't receive any government funding, so please give generously.  It has made such a difference to our lives and is helping Eva to progress and enjoy the experience!
