Here we go again….It's that time of year when the teams get announced and we all set our pages up for the All-Stars weekend 2015

This year I have been privileged to be selected as Captain of The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity ice hockey team.

I raised over £300 for last year’s event in a grand total of £49,100 raised over the whole weekend. This year I am hoping to beat my personal target and lead Team Teddies to victory for the first time.

A bit about the charity….

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of only four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK and provides integrated healthcare for children and young people, including community and mental health care as well as acute and specialist services. The hospital sees children from 0-16 years old in most cases and in some cases up to 18 years old.

They provide a full range of services for residents of Sheffield and South Yorkshire as well as specialised services for patients from further afield.

Caring for patients across the UK

Demand for their services is growing and we are increasingly delivering healthcare to patients over a wider geographical area as our reputation for providing outstanding specialist care grows.

They have some of the best medical and surgical services for children in the country. Find out more about some of their specialist services in the Centre of Excellence.

In 2011/12, they treated more patients than ever before with over 28,000 patients admitted to hospital and more than 109,000 attending the hospital.

As you can see this great charity needs our help as you never know when you or a loved one will need their services.

It's a great weekend where players get to raise much needed money for their chosen charities, make new friends and play the sport they love.
