30 Sept '09 Update: So many people understand and want to support Women's Aid in helping more women and their children. So, as suggested, I have raised my target and also added the offline sponsorship that I have received. The suggested new target of £1000 came from our leader of the Mother's Union at St.Cuthbert's Church. (The MU is another charitable organisation whose aim is also to help and support mothers and their families living through some very difficult circumstances).
For those who want, or need to know more about the range of tactics used in Domestic Abuse (DA), the characteristics of perpetrators and the impacts, there are lots of really useful websites and texts such as Women's Aid and the Freedom Programme by Pat Craven. (Check out the Safer Lancashire website too).
Thanks again to everyone for their ongoing support and sponsorship, it means such a lot to so many.
Act now until women and children are safe.
Love Deana X
13 September '09: SWIM DAY - Thank you so much to everyone for their messages of support; for the fantastic sponsorship - an amount I never dreamed I would raise when my Just Giving page went live only a month ago, and for keeping me (and therefore my children) going.
I completed the swim with the time of 00:43:05 and have already laid down the challenge to beat my Medical Director next year (his time was 00:43:03!)
Domestic Abuse (DA):
Too many women & children are still suffering at the hands of perpetrators of abuse. You may never know when it could be happening to someone you love - a daughter, sister, mother, aunt or friend; it could even be you. DA knows no boundaries and always involves the children of the relationship. We all need to act now until women and children are safe.
Thank you for your act in helping Women's Aid protect more women and children & to support women in finding their voice; a voice that is so often silenced through the tactics of abusers.
If you want to learn more visit the website of Women's Aid.
My personal thanks go to everyone at Fylde Coast Women's Aid.

5 August '09: Many of you will know and understand that I could not have come through the last few months without the support of some great friends, my family and Fylde Coast Women's Aid.
Whilst trying to stay focused and healthy, as well as overcome the impacts and the pain, I decided to do something positive, get swimming again (a usual antidote for the severe stress in my life over the years) and to raise some much needed funding for Women's Aid.
Please feel free to support me in any small way you can as every little helps.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
