Story

Dean is an immensely likeable lad of 16. He was born with Cerebral Palsy, and was diagnosed with Asthma at age 6 months.

He has since gone onto develop osteoporosis and is currently on the waiting list for extensive surgery on his hips to help stabilise them into adulthood.

Dean has never been able to walk or stand and relys solely on a manual wheelchair for his mobility. He refuses to uses an electric chair as he wants to keep active and is too stubborn to give in to his disability.

He attends Angmering School, and is very popular  with his friends and tutors alike and always has a smile on his face. Always ready to help anyone, he fundraised for Canine Partners to help train a dog to assist another disabled person.

He has been playing wheelchair basketball since the age of 8 years old and is a sport he lives eats and breathes. He trains regularly and plays for West Coast Tornados Basketball Team,  who are based at Littlehampton Academy.

He has had his present basketball chair for the last 6 years and is struggling to now play as the chair is too small for him.

We are appealing for help to raise the balance of the cost of a new chair , one that will really help his game and fulfill his ambition of playing for Great Britain worlwide.
