I am fundraising for Target Ovarian Cancer, a truly inspirational charity dedicated to supporting women with ovarian cancer, raising awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer leading to earlier diagnosis and to funding reserach.

7000 British women are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer each year and 4300 women will lose their lives each year. Our Ovarian Cancer survival rates are the lowest in Europe and there have been no new life extending treatments in the last 20 years. If ovarian cancer had made the same advances over the last 20 years as breast cancer over 3000 women would survive each year.

I joined this amazing charity in November 2012 as Head of Education and Supportive Services. Every day I meet and speak to women who are campaigning for all of the above. Many of them are terminally ill, but their strength and determination that no other women should suffer as they have is extraordinary. They campaign relentlessly, they lobby parliament, they raise awareness, they raise huge amounts of money, all so that no other women has to suffer as they have.
