I am running to show my kids, especially my son who has autism that you can do anything. It is important for those with autism to be encouraged and not shunned or tutted at for being different to the norm. I am hoping that with funds raised through this that my local branch is able to run trips for those with autism and their siblings to venues which support sensory therapy and venues where they are accepted for who they are. In doing so I hope to help those with autism be around each other in an accepted environment to socialise and be themselves.

I am also hoping that funds raised can be put towards further training for sports coaches in the local area on autism. The last training session was a success and it would be nice to reach out to more instructors and break down the barriers those with autism face when they want to participate in the sporting field.
