Lady Godiva Half Marathon 2009 · 25 October 2009 ·

The Chilli Children of Rukungiri (Uganda) Trust is a very small, registered UK charity (no. 1106601) which was set up to help orphaned and disabled children in rural Uganda. The Children's Project helps 3,000 orphans and 2,000 disabled children in the rural areas around Rukungiri.

Story

Once upon a time, in an effort to stop being so lazy and get some exercise, I started going running with some friends in Coventry . We called it Running Club, and it was fun. One day, it was decided that it would be a "good idea" to have something to aim for, and we should challenge ourselves to do this year's Coventry Half Marathon...

Now, wouldn't it be an even better idea to not just run, but to run to raise money for a worthy cause? And it just so happens that I know of a very nice little charity, the Chilli Children's Trust, run by my good friend Becky - and I would love for you to help me raise money for them. The trust supports the Rukungiri Children's Project to run agricultural and medical schemes to help 5000 orphaned and disabled children in Uganda. To find out more about their great work, please go visit the website: www.chillichildren.org.uk

Or see the wonderful little Chilli Children film which explains it all: http://www.doodacky.tv/component/hwdvideoshare/?task=viewvideo&video_id=798

I know that every penny makes a difference for the trust, and your support will make a difference for me when I attempt my first half marathon!

Thanks, and wish me luck ;-)

Debbie
