Life changed forever on 22nd August 2012 my Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
He was too weak to have tests at the time to find the primary cancer but following a post mortem we were told it was lung cancer and had spread to his liver and elsewhere. There was too much cancer for them to treat. He had a short battle. 6 weeks following diagnosis, he sadly passed away on 2nd October 2012.
My Dad was only 68 and loved life; he is missed by so many, having been involved in a number of communities and groups. He was a keen angler and life member of Northwich Angler Association and a more than avid Witton Albion FC fan, following the team home and away, helping with ground maintenance and was always there in times of need. He had many friends whom he captivated with his dry sense of humour and wit.
Above all, he was a fantastic dad, husband, brother, uncle and most recently, granddad. He was so proud when Ellie entered the world, and loved to spoil her rotten.
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation does a great job raising awareness of lung cancer; it is the most common cancer in the world and survival rates are poor due to the difficulties diagnosing the disease.
Please donate what you can; anyone who knows me will know that this is a challenge for me (I'm not a natural runner!) and so reaching my fundraising target in memory of my Dad will help to spur me on!
