Oh my gosh - I cannot believe that with the help of so many fantastic people I have been able to reach my target of £3,300 to enable me to raise much needed funds for my Women for Women Charity.

The challenges that I have undertaken to help me reach my target have been hard work but absolutely soooo worth it.

My mate Ange is my training partner and joined me for the 66 mile bike ride and 6 ferry crossings on
19th June.  Thank you so much for being there bird. xxx

IT'S OFFICIAL ......

I have finally lost my marbles - I am going to cycle 450kms through the Beijing provence in China to raise £3,300 to help with vital medical research for the Women for Women Charity.  On top of this I shall also be sky divingrunning and cycling various challenges in the UK as well as holding a Charity Ball in July.

Funds raised from this for Women for Women will be spent on ground-breaking medical research at the Institute of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Trust (IOGT) to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devasting conditions affecting women and their babies.  This includes brain injury, miscariage, infertility, cancer and genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis and muscular dystrophy.

FACTS:

1 in 18 babies in the UK are born prematurely - this is a rate that has barely changed since the 1930s.

1 in 4 babies are miscarried - the rate has also remained the same sinced the 1930s.  No matter how early in pregnancy a child is lost, the parents' grief is terrible.

1 in 175 babies is stillborn - this rate has remained almost unchanged since 1995.

Professor Robert Winston is Chairmain of the IOGT and Women for Women and the IOGT was set up in 1985 - the aim of the IOGT is to save lifes.  All of us can imagine the desperation and sadness of parents who lose a baby and the life-shattering impact that a serously ill child has on a family.

Thank you to everyone who has helped either through their time, their generosity in sponsoring me or donating for the Ball.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

I am so most very grateful.

Thank You.

Debbie x
