Children and adults with Down’s syndrome are all unique individuals with their own personalities, family backgrounds and preferences that make them who they are. We aim to create the conditions that all people with Down’s syndrome need to live full and rewarding lives.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online, for our walk on the 3rd September 2005. We will walk around Lloyd Park in Croydon which is about 5km.

My son Cameron was born 12th August 2004, Cameron has Down's Syndrome. We wasn't aware of this until after he was born. It was a shock and we went through a range of emotions including sadness, grief (for the child we were expecting) denial, anger also blame (myself in particular). I was ignorant about what Down syndrome actually was until the Down's Syndrome Association sent me facts and news letters. They are such a huge help to thousands of new parents and also to people who have Down's Syndrome themselves. I think these charitys desperately need our help and i for one want to do my best to help them raise funds and awareness, then hopefully some of the ignorance to this syndrome will be erradicated from this world. Cameron is just like any other baby he just has a little extra thats all.

My face may be different
But my feelings the same
I laugh and I cry
And I take pride in my gains
I was sent here among you To teach you to love And god in the heavens Looks down from above To him I'm no different His love knows no bounds It's here among you In cities and towns That judge me by standards That man has imparted But the family he's chosen Will help me get started For I'm one of his children So special and few That Came here to learn The same lessons as you That Love is acceptance It must come from the heart We all have the same purpose Though not the same start The Lord gave my life To love and embrace And I'll do it as you do Just at my own pace. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Down's Syndrome Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
