As you may know I was lucky enough to make the Trek in China in October of last year, the highlight of which was the visit to the bear sanctuary in Chengdu, Yunnan province.
The trek was stunning covering 52 odd miles in 5 days, staying at local farm houses and marvelling at wonderful, unspoilt moutainous terrain. Then the pinnacle of last year's efforts, the visit to the sanctuary! Jill Robinson the founder of AAF hosted us for the day and we were lucky enough to see every aspect of the foundation's work here and view all the bears. It is a large site and has around 100 staff, all committed to helping these tragic animals.
Whilst on the trek I made several good friends and I remain determined to raise further funds to aid these animals and their desperate plight.
I am planning on holding a lecture with slides of the trek and video clips of the bears in April, followed by a Chopin piano recital by Marie Noel-Kendall in May. Both venues Cambridge.
I would be so grateful for any donation you feel able to make, I appreciate times are very hard for most, but rest assured the money will go towards relieving a great deal of real distress.
Lots of love and hugs,
Debbie xxxx
