Hello everyone!

Update: Today I ran the 10k in just over 52 minutes.  I came 1008th out of around 5000 runners!!  Have added a couple of pics from race day.  Just click on photos.  Had a wonderful day and a great run; it was very special running through the historical streets of York and past the Minster and being cheered on by Felix, Sami, Francis and Madeleine!  And also seeing Dad on the course as a marshall (he took the photo of me actually running!)

On Sunday August the 2nd 2009 I am running the first York 10k and raising money for the charity Andrea's Gift, in memory of my Mum, who died of a brain tumour three years ago. 

As Mum was once a good runner herself it seems appropriate I should choose running as the method to raise money in her name.  I am also hoping to run the London marathon next year (if I get a place and stay injury free) so this will be a taster.  I will let you know how I get on.  My family will be cheering me on from the sidelines!
