Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page in support of Cancer Research UK. I really do appreciate your support.
After losing my father in law 4 years ago to this devastating disease, my own Dad was diagnosed in January of this year with 2 different types of cancer which he is currently being treated for. The prognosis originally given to us was not good, in fact he was only given 3-6 months with us. We are now into month 6 and he is still fighting and, if I do say so myself, 'looking good' :)
I know we still have a long way to go but I truly believe that we are only able to enjoy his company, laughter and hugs, and boy does that man give a good hug! through the dedication and research that Cancer Research has put in through the years.
So with the help of my family and the generosity of Mags from the Shamrock Public House in Parlaunt Road, Langley, I will be shaving off my hair in both memory to a wonderful man and in optimism and hope for another. This is a small gesture on behalf of myself and my family to thank the Cancer Research team for the extra time we have been blessed with.
If you can, feel free to join us on Saturday 4th August 2012 at 9.30pm at Shamrocks when the Wahl clippers will be raring to go.
