Story
Hi
My name is Debra and I am a legal secretary working with BTMK in Southend-on-Sea.
BTMK have close connections with Headway Essex.
Some years ago a work colleague/close friend of mine suffered a brain tumour. Happily she is now fully recovered from the impact of the tumour but at the time this was a very frightening and distressing time for all those who were closest to her, including me. Against this background I have become more aware of the fantastic work done by Headway and I now take an active interest in their activities in Essex. I am therefore delighted to be able to support them through the three peaks challenge which I am now undertaking.
Acquired brain injury can be suffered by anyone at any time. Traumatic brain injury can arise through road traffic accidents, falls, sports and assaults. In addition infection, disease and stroke cause a large number of acquired brain injuries.
A little about the work of Headway…..
