<p><span style="font-family: Calibri;">We're raising money for The Liver Support Group in the RVH in Belfast. We're supporting this group because my wife and our friend Gillian received a Liver Transplant back in 2002 in Kings College Hospital in London and continues to receive on going treatment and support from various groups within the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The Liver Support Group has been set up to complement and extend the support provided already by professional staff. It works closely with the doctors and nurses at the hospital. The Liver Support Groupwork to provide support and advice to patients with liver disease and their families throughout Northern Ireland. The main aim of the Group is to offer support and understanding not only to patients but also to relatives and friends. They endeavour to raise awareness of and combat the stigma associated with liver disease in all its forms. Another important area of their work is to raise awareness of the great need for donors given the current acute shortage of organs for transplantation. Without donors Gillian wouldn’t be with us and this is one of the main reasons we've chosen to support the Liver Support Group - to raise awareness on the need for organ donation. So we’re asking for your support to help raise some funds for the Liver Support Group in The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast so they can continue their great work and we’re also asking you to consider registering as an organ donor.</span></p>
